Domenica scorsa sono ritornato a casa dopo una settimana trascorsa in Cina. A Pechino ho vissuto giorni molto intesi e densi di nuove visioni: interessanti impegni di lavoro, incontri avvincenti e visite a luoghi suggestivi ed inattesi, si sono susseguiti senza sosta, riempiendo le mie giornate.
La città è dinamica ed eclettica, estesa, affollata e piena di vita.
Composta da differenti strati e molteplici prospettive, offre ai suoi visitatori esperienze vigorose e profondamente differenziate.
Ho visitato a fondo la città durante il mio soggiorno e soprattutto, grazie agli amici cinesi che mi hanno sapientemente guidato fin negli angoli meno noti, riesco ora a sentirmi “un po’ come a casa” circumnavigando i metropolitani spazi della città.
Ho visitato la Città Proibita; molte volte avevo sentito parlare della sua bellezza fuori dal tempo, della sua maestosità e delle sensazioni forti che è in grado di trasmettere a chi la osserva e ne entra a fare parte.
Proibito, appunto, era il suo ingresso al popolo al tempo delle antiche dinastie Ming e Qing che vi abitarono, oggi invece milioni di persone affollano le vie dell’ampia area considerata Patrimonio dell’Umanità dall’UNESCO.
Varcare Porta Tienanmen ha suscitato in me emozioni particolari, dalla modernità della Piazza, cuore della nazione, si arrivano a toccare i profondi meandri della storia, scoprendo le radici e le ragioni della cultura del popolo cinese.
La magia del luogo oggi però è in parte interrotta, il tempo è tornato a scorrere anche all’interno della Città Proibita: l’aura di surreale alterità che questa è in grado di generare sbiadisce nella frenesia dei turisti che riempiono luoghi un tempo sacri, nelle voci che si mescolano e divengono confuse, nel meccanico ed indistinto susseguirsi di negozi, ristoranti e di bazar di ogni genere.

The Forbidden City

Last Sunday I came back from one week spent in China. In Beijing I had very intense and full of new visions’ days: interesting works, engaging meetings, and visits to fascinating places filled my time.
The city is dynamic, eclectic, vast, crowded and full of life. It is composed by many different levels and perspectives, it offers to its visitors strong and deeply various experiences.
I intensely visited the city and thank to my expert friends I could even see its less known corners, feeling “as at home” also walking through the metropolitan spaces of the city.
I have also been in the Forbidden City; many time I heard about its out of time beauty, it magnificence and of the strong feelings it is able to offer to who is observing and living it.
During the Ming and Qing dynasties was forbidden to enter inside form common people, on the contrary today millions of people are crowding the ways of the vast area that is now considered World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
To walk into Tiananmen Door provoked unique feelings in my soul, starting from the modernity of the square I reached the roots of historical and cultural background of Chinese population.
The charm of the place today is a bit interrupted, time came back to flow inside the Forbidden City: the surreal atmosphere it generates fades out into the frenzy of tourists that crowed places that were sacred, inside the voices that creates confusion, inside the mechanical and vague repetition of shops, restaurants and every kind of bazaar.
