Lo scorso lunedì 5 giugno il mondo ha celebrato la Giornata dell’Ambiente, una festa proclamata dall’Assemblea delle Nazioni Unite nel 1972.

Quest’anno il Leit Motiv della giornata è stato l’invito a connettersi con la natura, come in un enorme social network che comprende, noi, gli animali, la terra; per non dimenticare la grande importanza che l’attenzione da volgere verso l’ambiente deve avere per ciascuno di noi, per ricordare come ogni nostra azione abbia un legame indissolubile con lo spazio che abbiamo attorno.

L’idea di base è stata quella di acuire il legame tra città e campagna, accrescendo la consapevolezza che l’organismo in cui ci muoviamo è unico, interconnesso, indispensabile.

Il mio desiderio, in una giornata dotata di tale valore, è di promuovere quella forma di pensiero che invita a ricostituire il legame originario ed autentico che ogni uomo ha con la natura.

In architettura ciò significa dare forma ad opere responsabili, coscienti del territorio in cui pongono le radici e create con l’intento di rispettare l’ambiente che ne permette lo sviluppo.

La creazione di opere sostenibili si traduce anche nell’attenzione che il progettista pone nell’evoluzione dell’opera e nel suo sapersi abilmente trasformare anche dopo la fine del ciclo vitale standard, senza divenire ostacolo o rifiuto, configurandosi come risorsa nuova.

World Environment Day

On Monday, June 5^th, we celebrated the World Environment Day, proclaimed by the United Nations in 1972.

This year, the theme was to connect with nature, as in a huge social network that includes us, the animals, the earth; to not forget the importance, the attention that each one of us should pay towards the environment, and to remember that each action has an indestructible bond within the space around us. The idea was one of intensifying the connection between city and countryside, increasing awareness about this unique, connected, essential world.

My wish, during such an important day, is to promote the idea of rebuilding the original and authentic bond between man and nature.

In architecture, this means creating responsible works, being aware of the space we build them in, and respecting the environment.

The creation of sustainable works also means great attention during the evolution of the project; being conscious about its function, even after its standard lifecycle, shaping a new resource.
