“L’architettura è musica muta” affermava Goethe, descrivendo meravigliosamente il rapporto esistente tra le proporzioni musicali e quelle architettoniche. In un’opera di architettura, si possono riscontrare svariate implicazioni acustiche, anche quando non si tratta di un edificio destinato a scopi musicali.

I legami tra musica e architettura sono molto potenti, anzi sono diverse istanze di una modalità espressiva dell’uomo nel suo confronto con il mondo, diverse componenti di un unico sguardo di interesse rivolto al mondo della conoscenza: non solo arte e tecnica, ma anche etica ed emozione da porre al servizio del progresso umano.

La musica può servirsi dell’architettura per elaborare progetti concepiti come casse armoniche piuttosto che veri macro strumenti, così come l’architettura si modella in funzione della musica: reinterpretandola fino a carpirne la sua anima più profonda, offre così una testimonianza emozionante, stupefacente, entusiasmante, di quello che è l’incontro fra due arti, senza tuttavia che l’una prevalga sull’altra, in un perfetto equilibro che è in grado di evocare una strepitosa armonia all’occhio umano.

Music can work together with architecture to elaborate projects conceived as harmonic speakers rather than actual macro instruments; in the same way, architecture transforms for music: reinterpreting it to capture its deepest soul, offering an emotional, incredible, astonishing testimony of the encounter between these two arts. However, none of them will prevail on the other, creating a perfect balance able to evoke a breathtaking harmony for the eye.
