L’uomo non è standard. Non è un prototipo, non è perfetto, non è mai uguale a se stesso. Ciascun essere umano è una persona reale dotata di proprie specificità, abilità, tratti che caratterizzano e definiscono il suo essere unico. Ciascuna persona è diversa a seconda dei contesti che attraversa, dei compagni di cui si circonda, delle esperienze che vive.

Per anni il design è stata un’astrazione: ha preso a cuore i bisogni di uomini che non esistono, uomini X, medi, le cui aspirazioni sono uguali a quelle della maggioranza del target preso come riferimento. 

Credo sia necessario ritornare all’individuo reale. 

L’essere umano che si muove nello spazio tutti giorni, che lo abita, lo vive, lo modifica con i suoi pregi ed i suoi difetti. Con le sue diversificate abilità, con desideri, obiettivi, finalità che variano nel tempo.

Una progettazione olistica, inclusiva, che valorizza le specificità di ognuno, coinvolgendo la diversità umana nel processo progettuale, è la base necessaria per ripartire dai bisogni reali, per ricostruire la realtà. Una realtà per tutti, immaginata senza il pregiudizio fuorviante.  

Un mondo abile nel soddisfare i bisogni della pluralità, evoluti, cangianti. 

L’approfondimento, lo sviluppo, la capacità tecnica ed il livello culturale che siamo riusciti a raggiungere con anni di proficuo e duro lavoro devono essere messi al servizio di scelte intelligenti, volte a migliorare la vita di TUTT*, a indirizzare il mondo, a colorarlo, non a ingrigirlo. 

Design for All

A human being is not a standard. He is not a prototype, is not perfect, is never the same as himself. Each human being is a real person endowed with his own specificity, abilities, and traits that characterize and define his unique being.

Each one of us is different depending on the contexts we go through, the companions we surround ourself with, the experiences we live.

For years design has been an abstraction: it has taken to heart the needs of a humanity who does not exist, an average men whose aspirations were equal to those of the majority of the target taken as a reference. 

I think we need to get back to the real individual.

The human being who moves in space every day, who inhabits it, lives it, modifies it with its merits and its flaws, with his different abilities, with desires and goals that change over time.

A holistic, inclusive design that enhances the specificities of everyone, involving human diversity in the design process, is the necessary basis to restart from real needs, to rebuild reality. A reality for all, imagined without a misleading prejudice.

A world able to satisfy the needs of the plurality, that are evolving and changing. 

The deepening, the development, the technical capacity and the cultural level we have managed to achieve with years of profitable and hard work must be put at the service of intelligent choices, aimed at improving the life of EVERYONE, to direct the world, to color it, not to turn it gray.
